Did you know that today it got up to 75 degrees? SEVENTY FIVE!!! woohoo!! And tomorrow it's supposed to be 78! This is me doing the happy dance! :) Maaan I can't wait for spring to finally get here.
Hmm...so the news....
This last weekend I went home for Mardi Gras. It was a crazy good time! My friend Chris & I were up by 7:30a.m. to put on face paint & get ready for the day. Pretty much all mardi gras is about is indulging in excess & all the bad stuff for you, a reason to misbehave, a chance to get it all out of your system before the 40 solemn days of lent beginning on Ash Wednesday. For those of us at St.Louis' Mardi Gras it meant drinking as many hurricanes (basically fruit punch & rum) as you could get, along with collecting as many beads as you could. For the record, I did that the good-girl way, by standing behind the silly girls who flashed the revelers & krewes on the floats & catching the beads thrown their way. Seriously...those men are so predictable...
Anyway, besides the crazy bosom-flashing, it was a fabulous time! We stayed out of trouble, but still managed to outlast every one of our friends except for Amber. She's the Queen of the rockstars, so it's a given that we couldnt compete anyways. :)
Sunday we had a party for my neice Lily, who turned one, and then surprised my brother who will be 25 early next month. It was good to see the family, and lily was just about the cutest thing ever with the pink & white cake icing all over her face. What a doll! I'd like to post a picture of her, but blogger is being pokey. So...that will be for another day.
Tomorrow i'm spending the evening with my goddaughter emma, am definitely looking forward to that. I found out that she's coming down with chickenpox though...poor baby...so i guess we will see.

Today I told Emma that you were coming over tomorrow and ever since she's been saying, "Katie? Play?" And check this out. Today we were out in the front yard and a white Saturn drove by and she excitedly said, "Katie! Katie!" I'm pretty impressed that she remembered what car you drive.
See you tomorrow!
That is pitiful, since I never recognize what car anyone, even the grandmas or you, Sarah, drive!
It sounds like you had a pretty stellar time in St. Louis. I'm sorry I didn't see you while I was down there.
